With children set to head back to school, Ridge Valley School in Gurugram organised a day-long Covid-19 vaccination camp for its students (aged between 15-18) who have already received their first dose of vaccination. Medical personnel of UPHC, Haryana, were deployed at the campsite to assist with
administering the second dose of COVAXIN. As many as 56 students received their second dose of the vaccine after the prescribed gap of 28 days.Nidhi Tewari, Principal, Ridge Valley School, said, “Proper immunisation will shield children and lessen the risk of spreading infection. Since schools are now open, getting vaccinated has become more important. I urge parents who have not yet vaccinated their children to get them inoculated as a priority”.
Students who did not get vaccinated with their first dose were also eligible to attend the camp. As part of the vaccination camp, the school authorities, together with the paramedics, provided all necessary support and facilities in compliance with COVID-19 protocols. The students were also closely monitored following vaccination to identify any vaccine-related complications, such as infection, allergy, or other symptoms.
Aryan Vipan Kapoor a student of Class IX, said, “I have received both of my doses, and I thank our school administration for providing us with such a smooth vaccination experience. I will continue wearing the mask and will follow COVID-19-related safety protocols until we win the battle against the coronavirus.”
