Late Gen BC Joshi PVSM, AVSM conceived the idea of setting up an ideal educational institution of international standards and with this dream Army Public School, NOIDA was born. The foundation stone of the school was laid on February 17, 1995 by Gen Shankar Roy Chowdhury, PVSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff.

The philosophy behind APS NOIDA is to provide an education that amalgamates Indian idealism and philosophy with rational outlook of the West. The school is an attempt to fulfill the long cherished dream of the Indian Army to provide excellent educational facility which is at par with the best in the world. APS NOIDA continues to grow and spread every day as we aim to educate beyond the barriers of caste, creed, gender, race, religion, region and monetary or social status of the learners.

Academic excellence is one of the goals of APS NOIDA. The school got affiliated to CBSE upto X on March 14, 1997 and received A+ grade within record time. The school follows the National curriculum developed by NCERT, New Delhi and implements the salient features of National Policy of Education. The school abides by the rules and regulations as stipulated by CBSE and Army Welfare Education Society (AWES).
