CAT refuses to scrap AIIMS test for MD courses
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has dismissed the plea of resident doctors of AIIMS seeking scrapping of the online test conducted by the premier institute for admission to super speciality courses of different medical colleges.
The tribunal refused to order fresh examination saying that the integrity of Controller of Examinations and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the firm which conducted the examinations, cannot be doubted.
“We are not convinced by the arguments that serious malpractices as alleged took place at the venue. We do not find any reason to doubt the integrity of the Controller of Examinations and the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the light of the clarification given in the affidavit by AIIMS,” the principal bench of CAT headed by Justice V K Bali said.
The tribunal also pointed out that AIIMS has already inquired into the matter and decided to conduct re-examination in few courses.
