JIMS holds National Seminar on Global Financial Crisis
With the backdrop of continuing financial crisis, a national seminar on ‘The Continuing Global Financial Crisis: Issues, Challenges & Strategies’ was organised by Jagannath International Management School (JIMS) at Kalkaji Campus.
The seminar was inaugurated by Mr Manoj Maheshwari, Chief Financial Officer, Shishir Bajaj Group. Eminent industry players present on the occasion were Ms Kirti Sharma (CA), Manager, IBM; Mr Vishesh Kumar Srivastava, DGM, Integrated Risk Management Division, Punjab National Bank; and Mr. Vishal Chowdhary (CA,CS), Business Leader-Finance, Agilent Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. Dr Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS and Dr.(Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director, JIMS also shared the dais with the distinguished dignities.
Multiple technical sessions, organized on issues such as ‘Understanding the Global Financial Crisis’, ‘Global Risk Management’ and ‘Strategic Planning to Overcome the Global Crisis’ gave a in-depth insight. This helped the participants to develop an understanding of the present financial situation and perspective on key strategies that may help to minimize the adverse effect of the global financial crisis.
“The financial evaluators are describing 2012 as a period of heightened uncertainty for the global economy. The condition is still fragile, as the world has just come out of the economic slowdown. Being one among the fastest growing economy India will also have its share on the whole scenario. However, to what extent this situation will have an impact on India is something that needs our immediate attention. We need to make a collective effort to formulate effective global risk management strategies to save our economy,” said Dr Amit Gupta.
